Meet the Dramaturgs

Young Vic Creators Program and Dramaturgs’ Network are bringing together 24 dramaturgs and 24 creatives over 2 sessions on Tuesday 10 October. This is a chance for members of both organisations to meet, get to know each other, talk about their work, and find new collaborators.

The format will be half speed-meeting and half casual mingling. In the first half, each dramaturg and each creator will have a chance to introduce themselves in a couple of minutes. In the second half, everyone will have the opportunity to chat casually and discuss anything that sparked their interest in the first half. We will have two slots on the day, so participants will have a choice of 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM or 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

We will be aiming to select a mixture of creators with different experiences and at different stages in their careers to have a wide range of participants.

How do I join?

If you’re interested in participating, please visit the Young Vic's website.

You must be a member of the YV Creators Programme to apply for the event, and must book your place through the Young Vic website.

You will be asked for short paragraphs (no longer than 100 words each) about who you are, a project you plan to make in the next 18 months, why you’re excited about connecting with a dramaturg; plus your availability for the day.

If you have access requirements, the form will allow you to submit an access rider so that we can get the necessary provisions in place for you before the day. You can submit your own, or download one of our templates here to use.

The deadline to express interest is 10:00 AM on Friday 15 September. We will aim to get in touch with everyone who has expressed interest by Friday 22 September.

If you would like to be involved but aren’t available that day or don’t live within reach of London, we invite you to submit a paragraph about yourself and your work, along with any links to websites or social media accounts – this option is available in the sign-up form. We will then circulate this to the members of the Dramaturg’s Network so their members can get to know you.

We know you are busy and are juggling many commitments, but please be aware that our events are free at the point of access but are not free to run. They have been planned according to the expected number of participants, and time has been given to make these opportunities available. Please only sign up if you are definitely available and avoid cancelling with less than three days’ notice, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
